My roundabout route into magic
I can't remember when I first caught the magic bug, but I do remember being inspired by the great Paul Daniels in the 80s. Once I was hooked though, I couldn't stop. I started practising for hours and hours a day and in my 20s I started performing in clubs and bars to hone my skills.
But I wasn't ready to turn professional and so got a job working in the video games industry at Ubisoft. I loved it and spent the next 25 years building a career in the industry, culminating in founding Moshi Kids, the award winning app to help kids relax and sleep.
The magic didn't stop, however, and I continually used it throughout my corporate career to entertain and inform my colleagues, teams, clients and suppliers. I remember my first ever sales meeting, where I made the new product I was promoting appear out of nowhere. The Sales Director still reminds me of it today - such is the power of magic as a visual aid.
There is nothing like performing magic live and seeing the reactions of the audience.
